The good descendants do not ever forget their Martyrs; as good Sikhs, we should always remember how small children of our Guru stood fearless before a powerful local ruler and treacherous attack of cowards. A Sikh’s selling his or her dignity for getting a political seat or an opportunity to get power is a blot on the community that survived heinous genocides. We have seen how some people of our community get sold for power and money forgetting how small children of our Guru chose dignity and their own faith over anything precious. Isn’t it shameful?
The Gurpurab to be celebrated in the month of December of our Guru’s Children and mother is a good reminder to keep our dignity intact by rejecting anything that lowers us to be the Sikhs of our Guru. If we don’t remain united, the genocide occurred in 1984 is inevitable again, and if it does again, our future generations will blame us for our being cowards . Let us celebrate the martyrdom of our celebrated martyrs together with a pledge not to forget it ever or not to get sold for power or wealth.
